What is Family Day? Created to give people time to spend with their families, Family Day is only is only observed in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Two other provinces have holidays on the same day: In PEI, Islander Day (new since 2009) is celebrated and in Manitoba it’s Louis Riel Day.
