Landmark awarded contract to supply all indoor/outdoor seating at GO Transit platforms

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Landmark by Crozier, a division of Crozier Enterprises dedicated to enhancing the beauty of Canadian landscape by representing manufacturers that create eye-catching and functional site furnishings, was selected by Metrolinx as the supplier of indoor-outdoor seating for all GO Transit platforms.

The newly-inked contract has Landmark supplying the new “GO Transit Bench” at every station platform that GO Transit services. Installation is set to begin early 2015 with the addition of 105 benches at Union Station (61 at the York Concourse and 44 at the Bay Concourse).

Erlau, the leading manufacturer of intelligent solutions for public spaces since 1828, is the manufacturer behind these modern, sleek and stylish modular benches. Landmark has been exclusively representing Erlau in Canada for over 20 years and can attest to the products’ beautiful designs and incredible durability.

It was during early discussions between GO Transit and their consultant Winkreative where Erlau first came to the table as an option for modular seating. Winkreative recalled Erlau’s strong European presence with products visible throughout the European railway systems and felt confident that the aesthetic of the Erlau benches was in line with their vision for the new GO brand identity: linear, simple, functional, clean.

Erlau is the leading supplier for outdoor public transit seating in Europe and it is great to see the products taking off in Canada,” said Iain Crozier, Vice-President at Crozier Enterprises, noting that the German-made products are the standard for the German Railway, Berlin Underground, Swiss Railway and the Austrian Federal Railway.

Each Erlau GO Transit bench offers individual seating for space and comfort. In addition to its clean lines and impressive durability, they are also chip, dent and scratch resistant, as well as vandal proof.

“The benches are easy to maintain thanks to Erlau’s Anti-Graffiti coating, which reduces dirt retention, prevents soiling through brake dust commonly found in train stations and can easily remove graffiti,” said Iain, adding, “As for durability, Erlau supplied the benches for the 1972 Munich Olympic Stadium and the original benches are still there today in great condition.”

Landmark by Crozier President Ken Crozier is proud to be aligned with GO Transit and is looking forward to offering comfortable, high-end seating for people to utilize for decades to come.

“We are pleased to have established a great working relationship with GO Transit and be involved in their new branding image,” said Ken, noting, “At least half of our staff utilize GO Transit on a daily basis, so they will surely feel a nice sense of pride knowing that they contributed to the new look.”
